Composed for the 2001 Chicago International Organ Festival at Fourth Presbyterian Church, the "Triptych for Transgifuration" is a suite constructed on three hymns whose texts illuminate the thene of the Last Sunday after the Epiphany or the Transfiguration. The writing styles are "Plein jeu," popular among French classical composers, a "Meditation" in which the cantus firmus is sounded in the pedal reeds while the manuals weave a highly ornamented accompaniment, and a brilliant "Toccata."
