Winner of the Raabe prize in 2003, this festive work for SATB a cappella with divisi is a lively proclamation of a text from the prophet Isaiah: “Arise, shine, for your light has come.” The work includes a chorale-like setting of the final stanza from ‘O Morning Star, How Fair and Bright’ (WIE SCHÖN LEUCHTET). Accomplished choral ensembles will delight in the rhythmic energy and motivic development that abounds in this music. This setting is an excellent choice for choral concerts, Lessons and Carols services, and for Sundays in the Epiphany season.
