Percussion, and lots of it, is the key to bringing this magnificent setting to life. "Cristo Vive" was the winner of the 1999 Association of Lutheran Church Musicians Conference competition, and it was warmly welcomed at the association's conference in Richmond, Virginia. With Spanish text by Nicolás Martínez, and a new English translation, this setting is an inspired addition to the Easter repertoire.
