Composer Commentary

I arranged this anthem for the forces at hand and dedicated it to my choir, St. Andrew's, in Newport News, Virginia. The first phrase, in canon, was somewhat stolen from Bach's "Orgelbüchlein" chorale. The middle section is my words using the "Haec Dies" chant. Widor says this melody is as elusive as a birdsong. I hope it captures the joy and wonder of Easter.
