Composer Commentary

In this collection I used a variety of styles, some more adventurous than others, but each piece reflecting the mood and intent of the hymn. There is the exuberant setting of the title hymn "All Glory, Laud and Honor," dedicated to Norma Aamodt-Nelson, who suggested the collection. There is a jaunty setting of "Come Away to the Skies," a meditative toccata on "O Sacred Head," dedicated to the late David Gell, and so on. The setting of "Christ at Table with His Friends" is based on a tune I composed that is included in the New Century Hymnal. There is a mood for every purpose whether for the prelude, communion, or postlude.
