Based on Luke 24:29, Abide with Me is an appeal to the Lord to remain by our sides, through all of life's difficulties. The anthem begins peacefully, slowly building on vocal texture and dynamics before a powerful climax. From there, it slowly resolves peacefully, much like it began.
