Living Lutheran

Beginning with its April issue, The Lutheran magazine is now called Living Lutheran and has a new corresponding website, Our new name, Living Lutheran, signifies this church’s living, daring confidence in God’s grace.

You can expect the same quality content—inspiring stories, news and information, theological insights and more—along with new departments and enhanced, more-robust web presence. Each month, magazine articles will be released online on a daily basis, but only print subscribers will have access to content all at once.

You can find and follow your favorite content with Living Lutheran’s seven content categories:

Congregational Life
Stories of the ELCA’s 3.7 million members and more than 9,000 congregations—how the church and its members impact communities.

Voices of Faith
Articles of commentary, opinion and reflections of faith.

Spiritual Practices and Resources
Articles relating to congregations and individuals who are looking for programs to offer their members and ways to help them practice their faith through areas such as worship, stewardship, arts and music, and more.

Children and Family
Articles sharing stories and ideas for growing faith in families, as churches continue to be one of the few places in society where all generations gather, learn, serve and grow together.

Mission and Ministry
Articles describing the life and work of the ELCA both domestically and globally through its agencies, institutions, colleges, seminaries, overseas missions and ecumenical relationships.

Religious News and Social Issues
News stories related to the ELCA and partner churches, as well as current religious news. Articles may stem from current events that are related to social issues but may also include events related to advocacy, science and technology.

From the Presiding Bishop
Monthly messages from Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton—from current topics facing the church and the world to her own faith and life experiences.

As a partner in God's mission, Living Lutheran shares with the ELCA's diverse membership the stories of God's people living their faith.
