A graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, Michael Foss earned his master of divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa, and a master's in theology and spirituality from Mount Angel Benedictine Seminary, Mount Angel, OR. Prior to coming to St. Mark, Foss was senior pastor of Lutheran Church of Redeemer in Atlanta, Ga. He is the author of several books, including Real Faith for Real Life and From Members to Disciples. Pastor Foss consults and speaks to leaders with synods, church organizations and other denominations about identifying, equipping, and commissioning effective Christian leaders for the 21st century ministry. He and his wife, Christine, reside in Urbandale; they have two daughters and four grandchildren.
