Linda Cable Shute's catalog of work includes approximately ninety compositions by six major publishers. She has previously served as both an associate music minister and organist-choirmaster in a variety of denominations throughout the southeast. Her undergraduate degree from the Queens University of Charlotte was in piano performance, with a minor in applied art. She pursued post-graduate composition study with Alice Parker (Westminster Choir College) and Richard Proulx (St. John's University, MN); conducting with Melanie Jacobson (Westminster Choir College) and private conducting study with Eric Nelson of Emory University. Ms. Shute began writing music in 1992, and her first octavo was accepted for publication in 1992 by Augsburg Fortress. She is a member of the American Composers Forum, and ALCM. Her compositions have been performed in Europe as well as in the USA.
